Intel® Core™ i5-10310U
Q2 2020 so pretty aged but might be great at this price. I'll let others decide.
Also, ram is DDR4.

Being manufacturer refurbished. it will have a new OEM battery. No aftermarket battery quality risk for 3+ years.
They're also quite durable and great for travel. No plastic covers and magnesium alloy chassis. Should be virtually no flex if you grab it from a corner. Spill proof keyboard and semi-rugged spec.
I've gotten many friends into off lease Elitebooks for student laptops. Typical models in this class are flimsy plastic crap that probably won't make it 2 years. A good elitebook is about the same cost but it can easily last 4+. I've seen them slammed by locker doors and they come out with some bent metal cover but they still work just fine. A cheap notebook would likely end up with a damaged screen and significant broken plastic.

To me...not a great price. I got an I3-1215u laptop around Thanksgiving for $200 open box like-new, which is significantly more powerful than this I5.
Wow, nice review. I love high build quality. How does it perform as a tablet, say, for notetaking? I'm considering it for a college kid. It would only be for academics - she could care less about gaming.

The correct expression is "she couldn't care less"
