Bought dawn from Costco and noticed they changed the formula. Doesn't smell as good anymore. Didn't notice a change in cleaning power, not that it was noteworthy to begin with.

I don't like Kirkland dish soap. We have a pump dispenser and the Kirkland dries up in a blob on the nozzle and then it makes a mess when you go to pump more soap. The Dawn doesn't do that and functions great as an actual detergent.

I'm a Costco guy but this and their TP are going to turn consumers on their brands if they don't fix things quick.

It was meant to be funny which I now realize wasn't. When I saw "Just in time for Mother's Day," I thought they were talking about buying it as a gift and that they were also joking. I repped them saying their comment was funny. But maybe they're critically low on dish soap and plan to use Amazon expedited delivery, so this deal was perfect timing for doing dishes after a party or barbecue honoring the person (a form of gift). But your point is well-taken, exclamation mark and all. Even so, I wasn't aware that there was a hard rule about treating someone with kindness. Each family has their own traditions. Here are a few reasons found online why a husband may choose to give his wife a Mother's Day gift.
  • She is the mother of your children
  • She deserves to be honored and acknowledged
  • You are teaching your children how to treat her
  • It lets her know you validate and love her
  • It validates her role in the family
  • It will make her feel special
  • It will strengthen your relationship
On the other hand, you will now have started a gift-giving tradition. There are other ways people may choose to acknowledge and make a wife or husband (Father's Day) feel special. I'm sure there's a list for that as well, and that there are no hard rules for those either.
