Just a FYI, these are the Non HP versions.
Pass. A couple weeks ago, and a couple weeks before that, was the same price for HP batteries and a dual charger. I'm sure it'll be back.

New to the Ryobi 18V platform. What exactly do the HP versions do better than the other 4AH Ryobi batteries here? How many different versions of Ryobi One+ 18V batteries are there?

Just the two. Hp batteries have some extra connectors allowing hp tools to draw more power when needed. Hp tools will also function on normal batteries. Also, not all hp tools have the extra connectors. For example, I have the hp vacuum, and it doesn't have the extra connectors. It is probably hp because it is brushless. Hp stuff generally costs more.
Thank you. That helps me immensely. 😀

There's a chance that the $199 Ryobi HP battery kit [homedepot.com] could be around $100 next week during Ryobi Days.
I believe these will only be free with select higher end tool purchase. Some of sales adverts have been setup in stores already

I bought this. There appears to be no testing evidence that the HP makes any real difference to justify the price premium.

This is a good deal. The Ryobi Days sale has the HP starter kit for $199 that includes a free tool (none that I would ever use) and this is $99. Check out the YouTube video on Ryobi Days sale by a guy that walks thru a Home Depot with displays set up with prices. I bought this $99 deal.

If you look at that same YouTube video, you will see the $199 HP battery kit with a free tool. If using the Home Depot hack, you can potentially return the free tool to get the HP battery kit for around $100.

FYI the last time I used the Home Depot hack it worked, but several month later my account was barred from making online orders. I called Home Depot and they said I had circumvented their policies in returning an item that was part of "the hack". I now need to go into Home Depot to make purchases. Maybe they are aware of the hack and stepping up enforcement. Just beware this could happen to you!

Not exactly but close. It was 9-10 dollars more.

If you can't see a charger in each of these Ryobi battery kits, you need your eyes checked.

See attached.

Sadly, the pictures for the product page are misleading since most of them mention or display high performance batteries.
This product page [homedepot.com]?

I don't see any photos or mention of HP batteries.
