I use Harry's and they work great, they run a little less than 2 bucks apiece but last longer than 'name' brands.

Harry's is garbage compared to Gillette and still overpriced, might as well use Dollar Shave Club blades if Harry's works for you.

Honestly, if you're trying to save money on razors (presumably you are if you're on Slickdeals) just buy a safety razor and a 100 pack of blades. It cuts down on plastic waste too, if that concerns you.

I just bought this deal, but I have received a lot of blades from Amazon that are unusually dull at first use. Always makes me wonder if they are authentic.

TL;DR Tried that for a few months and it sucked. It made shaving a long and difficult process that was too time-consuming for me.
----------------------------

I've been there and tried that. Watched some YouTube vids, got a nice handle and a variety pack of blades.

Safety razor shaving is a completely different beast. And to be honest, it's far from safe. You have to be very careful and take your time to avoid nicks. Even then, there are no guarantees. You can get pretty good at it, but you cannot just speed through it. You must respect the blade as a worthy enemy of your neck.

I went back to disposable cartridges. I sharpen them with a leather strop when they become dull. I typically get about a month per cartridge now. Not as cheap as blade shaving, but with deals I find here, it is well worth it to use disposable cartridges. Stropping also has saved me from having to trash defective new cartridges, like those someone mentioned getting. It can happen.

Once my blades dull/tug, I strop. I usually get a couple or three shaves between stropping. I shave WTG (with the grain) first pass, then ATG (against the grain). Some also throw in a sideways pass between those. I stopped bothering with that. I sometimes use a diagonal AGT pass if I want to get a super close shave, though. Necks are tricky to safely make a sideways (horizontal) pass, even with cartridges. Cheeks are never an issue with any type or direction of shaving for me.

Before I got the strop, I used a swatch cut from some old denim jeans. Got that tip here years ago. That was cheaper, but I prefer the results of a dedicated leather strop. And before you laugh, it has been shown on YouTube that denim works to improve the sharpness.

I prefer 3-blade cartridges. They do not clog up, unlike most 4-blade (or more) cartridges. Those are harder to rinse out/unclog.
I preheat my face, neck, and cartridge with hot water before shaving and reheat the blade while rinsing, after each section.

One thing I can never go back to is electric shavers. They never get close enough for me. I was damaging my shirt collars. Never having a smooth enough shave got expensive when my job required wearing a tie.

After comparing blades bought from Costco vs. Amazon, there is no doubt the Amazon blades I received are not authentic. I was wondering why I had so many cuts on the first shave from the Amazon blades and now I know.
