I see Amazon matched BestBuy's Memorial Day deal =)
Keep in mind the LG adjustable curved one is coming soon, which is basically the same as this one, but it is flexible.
Edit - been waiting on this price drop, so picked up one this morning - thanks!

This is an amazing monitor. Iv been looking forward to a 5k2k older for a while and 45in seems like a great since for that resolution.

Only thing now it's the price; hopefully it keeps falling and dragging along the LCD prices for similar monitors.

How is this for work (excel, programing)? I am currently on 38" uw lg. it has been the best i got. I play game for my free time with 5080, i am not sure if this is good as work 80%/game 20% monitor (especially text)

We're the same. 38" UW IPS.

Honestly, if you have the space for it and considering the steep pricing, it's way cheaper to just buy a 42" LG OLED TV and use it as a secondary monitor. It's less than 1/2 the price of this around ~$700-800 and gives you the best of both worlds. Especially considering you can keep the TV off when not needed greatly reducing burn-in concerns.

Use the 38" UW for fast paced FPS games that require keyboard/mouse and the TV for anything that can be played with a controller.

Yes my desk is 30" deep. I dont want giganic tv in my office( and no space for it). Another concern is if my work laptop can support this monster. I saw it support one 4k as 60hz and another 1440p uw. I cant find info for 5k support.

Returning this monitor will be a abit of pain so i am trying to do my best research to make right decision.
Have you used 4k oled? I assume we will need 150% scaling to match 1440p uw. I am wondering how text will look compared to 38". I have seen 27" 4k oled at store, but a bit disappointed for text. Text on 38" ips looked far superior

Wow 20% off already didn't this just come out as the first 5k / 2k OLED? I'm in the market for one but after watching reviews on this one people are returning because the Matt finish degrades the picture for them. I'll be holding off and waiting on what the other brands come up with and hopefully drive the price below $1k. I'd definitely wait for one to come out in QD-OLED too after alienwares excellent panels in the AW34 monitors.

If you look at a lot of text you might be disappointed with this screen. Check out a demo at BB then decide. IPS text still is better than most current OLED.
