Batteries go flat randomly. Make sure you have a key nearby.
App doesn't register the click to open/close at times. I need to close the app and open it again for it to recognize a tap on the open/close action. Each time I want to open close, I need to restart the app.
In comparison I also have 3 Nest/Yale locks that use regular AA batteries that last like 2 YEARS or more (it's been so long that I don't even remember the last time I changed them). Just something to keep in mind before buying.
I got a bunch of batteries on a slickdeal but when those run out I'll probably change it out with something else.
One with the external hub and one like the model posted here with the wifi built in. I prefer the external hub. While it is a small nuisance to find a spot to plug the hub in where it's close enough to the lock to work reliably, the battery life is much better. I've had it for several years and the batteries last 6+ months.
The model with the wifi built in doesn't have the same range, so I think it might be a problem if your router is not near the door you want to install this lock on. As mentioned above, it also eats batteries, which are the more expensive cr123 size. I would not recommend this model if you don't have a strong Wi-Fi signal near your door.
