Only if you water when the soil is completely dry and dump out any extra water that collects at the bottom after watering. Succulents don't like to be in wet soil for too long

I have some of these in all 3 sizes. The terracotta is really thick, and there is no drain hole in the bottom so if you want, the 8" is perfect to use as a Terracotta Water Pot in your garden. Just put a plate over after filling.

How does it soak up the water? Through a wick?

wait, isn't the point of a terracotta pot its breathability? so adding water on the outside defeats that right? I'm guessing this will be a bad idea for orchids.

Orchids don't need self watering setup. You just have to water them when dry.

There's a little spot on the bottom of the pot where you're supposed to poke a hole through with a screw driver or something similar.

The roots drink from the pot. I just bought some Oya pots for a garden bed I have. Def a slick cheaper alternative

I just got the 8" delivered. No hole or spot to " poke a hole w/screwdriver "

Product is misleading, you still need to add water to the clear outer pot, not self-watering

Did you think it automatically generates its own water?
