Great laptop.
The difference between that OmniBook 7 Flip and this one is much refined and premium build quality, higher speed SSD (Higher end Gen 4 TLC SSD vs basic Gen4 QLC SSD opr DRAm Less TLC SSD).
Thanks for dumbing down a small portion of it.
To be clear X > Ultra > 7 > 5 ?
Basically this one is the cat's pajamas of the HP line? I just wish it were the 258v with 32gb.

Regrettably they don't have a 14" with the 32gb. At least I don't think so...

If choosing to go with the normal install, the software bloat is surprisingly low. McAfee must be uninstalled (this seems to be from Costco) as well as a few minor apps from HP; don't select to install anything optional. The screen can do 4K/120Hz if you are trying to mirror it out to a 4K TV, as I tested since using a touchscreen to check maps on a big screen is nice. For drawing with the included pen, you can use Journal to handle PDFs, and drawing can be done flat or in an A shape most easily (and yeah, 16" is massive for this). The touchpad does appear to be haptic. This also has Wi-Fi 7 over 6E (like the recent Acer posted). I used this for online meetings and the AI does a good job of filtering.
To add on for this vs the X, the build quality on the 7 is pretty good but not amazing (some wobbling, but overall build is not weak). As for pricing, the lowest I got on sale for this at HP's own site was around $160 more but the Costco warranty is better. Comparable products (ASUS) sit around $1,250 unless you go down to 14". As for it against this X, I will say that the 32GB might be worth it as even with a relatively anemic CPU the GPU (ARC 140V iGPU) uses the shared memory and is quite robust and could benefit (8GB is fine for it, but since it has to pull it out of unified you really want dual-channel 32GB). Lastly, HP has service manuals for these that you can check if you want to know more about the inners for maintenance.
