I'm in the FLEX lineup, so no hate. That said, my Local Lowes got rid of the FLEX aisle and replaced it with DeWalt. They only have an end cap and that stuff is all marked down as clearance. The other stores all have many FLEX items on clearance and everything is covered in dust and ad's from 2022-2023. I feel like the FLEX brand is dying and that sucks because the tools are good. I get the feeling that Lowes is going to drop them and that might be circling the drain at this point.

Bought the drill+driver+2 batteries bundle last month for $130 and these are really powerful .. also lifetime warranty for tools/batteries is amazing (only for items bought until the end of the year)

If it only comes somewhat close to the claimed 1,800 in-lbs, the 1/4" hex adapters or bits are the weak point anyway. What would you do with more power?

I've never had anyone complain about the flex stuff, but it's a big bite to jump into. the batteries are just very expensive.

I also bought a 6 tool kit soon after they dropped. Awesome powerful tools but they've been terrible in their marketing and ability to stock tools in store

Considering it has German origins, highly regarded for their auto detailing tools, existed since 1922, now under the parent company of Chervon . I think the lifetime of the company will outlast your lifetime.

But from what I understand the lifetime warranty only covers against manufacturer defects, not regular wear and tear. I don't think Flex's warranty is as all-encompassing as Ridgid's LSA. If that is the case, is the warranty really unique compared to other brands at the end of the day? just curious.

I dont have first hand experience with their warranty but have def heard of success stories from other people submitting battery claims.
Think their warranty is lenient. Flex certainly builds better tools than rigid thats for sure. Projectfarm proves it in his reviews. They just dont have much of a marketing team.

Lowes always pulls this crap. I remember years back getting on the porter cable 18v train. After a few years they rebranded all of the porter cable lineup as 20v and made the batteries incompatible with the existing line. HD has had the same systems and ever growing lineups in their Ryobi and Ridgid brands for so long it's crazy. Just much better to buy into a system that you know will be around long term. Of course major brands like Milwaukee and DeWalt are also good options.
