I got a quad m.2 card to 16x laying around. I'm not familiar with these sticks of gum.. anyone aware if any of these have a nice amount of SLC/cache on them?

SLC cache not huge, esp on the 1tb, but so far as I know, these have TLC and haven't swapped it for QLC like most.

Both M470 Pro and M482 are DRAM-less
Edited - M470 Pro does not have DRAM

Looks like M470 and M470 Pro are different drives. For example, the TBWs are different, so I'm not sure if this is TLC as well

Even though it's not a great deal anymore, I think the M482 is a pretty decent drive. It's easily the coolest running of the drives I've tested recently.

In my experience, drives with Phison controllers often just have a small static pSLC cache. I know the M482 does. The 2TB I tested had about 50GB worth, though it could vary depending on how much of the NAND capacity is lost to bad blocks. Even after the pSLC cache is filled, the M482 can maintain about 1.4GB/s.

Is this one okay for PS5? I need another one, but can't get the same Staples deal that I got before.

M482 is HMB (DRAM-less)

Where are you seeing the M470 Pro having dram? I could only find one source that states the M470 Pro is dramless while the M470 nonpro has dram

Oh no! I'm sorry. I looked at the SSD spreadsheet and I mistakenly thought this was the same thing as M470. You're absolutely correct. I will edit my post so that others are not misled. Apparently M470 had DRAM but M470 Pro doesn't. Thank you for correcting me.

So the non-Pro is better than the Pro? That's odd.
