I bought this same set 2 years ago, but only this week got through the last of my $1 chepo blades. Honestly, I was (and maybe still am) team $1 blade, but these are better. They cut cleaner + faster, burn less, and track straighter than the chepo Amazon blades (can't speak for longevity yet). The biggest advantage may be the ability to cut wood cleanly and nails fast without changing blades. Most of the chepo blades can do either one or the other well, but I've never had one excel at both.
I don't think I would pay full price, but I am not disappointed at having them around this price. The case is pretty nice too, but definitely won't fit all 50 of your chepo blades lol.
Oscillating tool accessories are a disposable item. You can get a ton of crappy ones on amazon, and then you get sandpaper, and several other types of accessories.

Maybe if they start making cobalt ones or something I'll consider longevity.

On a serious note.... Want them to last longer? Turn your tools down down. You don't need to be on 100% for everything and heat is what really softens these up and kills them

Heat burns wood. Burnt wood is carbon. Carbon is harder than steel. Especially hot steel. The blades inability to move dust out of the cut groove is what leads to the damage to the cutting edge of the blade.

The carbonized wood is still nowhere near the hardness of steel. Carbon fiber is what you're thinking of. Bi-metal blades are hardened steel which loses it's hardening when you get it too hot. This is why the blades fail.

Yup, the ezarc carbide blades can cut through nails all day and not break a sweat. They are not very good at wood though, and tend to burn and bog down quickly. I keep an old one around specifically for cutting through exposed nails and screws because it just won't die. In a wood + nails situation though, they leave a lot to be desired.

Problem with that really old Project Farm video is that he tested a carbide Ezarc against a regular old Milwaukee that isn't even made anymore, so the scales were heavily tipped in Ezarcs favor. Why didn't he make it a fair fight and test a carbide Milwaukee?

But I've always assumed that whatever kept the blades sharp was coated in the teeth.
But this thing is also expensive. Idk. I keep coming back to just buying cheap blades.

Where did you purchase your $1 blades?
I've purchased ezarc and toolant blades on Amazon. The average price per blade was right around $2 not $1, but the same idea applies.
