Wow, has more ports than $2000 laptop!

2x micro SD card slots (w/ 1x 64GB card included)
2x USB-C ports (one for charging, one w/ OTG support)

Don't forget Mini-HDMI port?

But I think it's too cramped to hold for people with big hands. I would prefer something a bit more grabbable, imagine Playstation controller type of grips.
I'm going to tell you why it's not as comfortable because you can't just lay your thumb flat on the buttons due to the control stick under the game buttons. Why two thumb sticks?

Pretty good deal for this device. FYI that this chipset will comfortably run up to PS1, and are hit or miss (more miss than hit) on N64 and PSP, which is where you'd see joystick usage. While PS1 was famous for introducing dual shock, most if not all games primarily used the d-pad.

I was pretty hard up originally on wanting a device with joysticks but after research, landed on the TrimUI brick which has a similar chip and have been having a great time with the d-pad, playing a ton of Game Boy Advance. I got the 35XXSP for my 6 year old son who's loving that too.

Note - these devices come with a bunch of ROMs, a lot which are the same from different regions. You'll want to blow all that away and load in your own custom rom set. You'll also want to install a custom OS. I strongly suggest Knulli.

I don't have this model but I have a few other Anbernics and they're all fantastic. Great retro gaming device.

I really want one of these but they can't do ps2 yet. I wonder if we're a few generations away from that.

I had this model but sold it because it was too small ergonomically. Though it was cool to run GTA3 on such a tiny screen, wasn't fun playing it.I got a TrimUI Smart Pro which I loved.

I have the RG35XX SP, which has the same specs in a clamshell form factor. I highly recommend these to anyone interested in a portable retro gaming system, and at this price point, it's a no-brainer.

Get retroid pocket 4 or 5 or flip. All do ps2, gamecube, wii and some switch.

I have this (purchased last year when it first was introduced). Ive been super happy with it, as has my younger son. Its comfortable for me (medium sized dude) to play for long periods (a few hours) without issue. Also has impressive build quality for a $50 device.
I thought about adding custom firmware, but opted to keep (just update to latest version) the stock Anbernic firmware and it has been fine. Honestly, I dont see a real need to update the firmware...its perfectly useable stock. Now as for the memory card that comes with this, just back it up and imediately toss it - its crap (unless theyve changed to using branded cards recently). I did ditch the games and just used my own tinybest set.
Overall, for this price I dont think you can find a better retro gaming device.

Had one of these for about a year. It's neat to mess around with and seems well-constructed but I don't use it anymore. Games that don't require too much dexterity are fine, but anything that requires the sticks is uncomfortable due to the size. For the (lack of) power that it has I'd just save your money for something a bit better. The battery life is also less than impressive so it's not even that portable.

I hear you, I'm running NextUI on the brick, but the visual presentation of Knulli running emulation station can't be denied. Love the little preview videos, it's a great OS to present to folks who are new to the scene, especially if you use Kid/Kiosk mode to hide the plethora of options that can get overwhelming
