Be forewarned, I thought the same. Bought the 256GB version of this before when they were listed for about $15.

Failed after 1 month of occasional use. While Amazon refunded the value of the drive. Lost the data on the drive which has far more value

whoa, tbh I had no idea flash drives were to the point where $12 would be a normal price for 128gb. $8.39 on sale seems like a steal to me.

This is a great price for a 128gb drive but with all flash drives, the longer it runs, the hotter it gets and in turn the speeds will come to a crawl. 🐌 πŸ¦₯ 🐒

Beware - this looks very much like a SanDisk Extreme PRO (which is a gold standard in performance and durability) but beyond the similar aesthetics there's nothing here that leads me to believe the internals are of the same quality. Buy the SanDisk if you want reassurance.

Few companies advertise the write speed. Glad to see this one does..30MB/s write speed.

Once you do the research and realize that a drive like this exists..... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C3B18PKT
Then there is no worrying about speeds. The thing is superhuman. The fact that people don't know it exists is mind numbing.

I looked hard at the 256GB model a few weeks ago, and instead went with a Samsung Bar Plus that has better reviews in general. It was worth the extra $5.

Sure why not, in for 2. I have to upgrade 2 parental PCs in the near future (thanks M$) and this is a pretty cheap backup solution. I just hope the write speeds are better than the bargain bin Microcenter USB's I bought in the past.... those things work but they are SO FREAKING SLOW. I've been giving those away or using them for much smaller ISO images which is a waste of space, but those things SUCK to use on a regular basis

I don't know what's worse, the admission that it only writes at 30MB/s or the claim that it's 15x faster than USB 2.0 (which caps out at ~50MB/s after protocol overhead, btw)

It's 2025, stop buying flash drives with mediocre specs for 2010.

Perhaps, but it won't be the size of a normal USB flash drive.
Plus that drive has both USB C and USB A connectors on it.

False advertising. You will see 30MB/s maybe for a few seconds and then it will drop to 5-10MB/s on average. Look at the reviews, specifically the ones showing large file transfers to the drive. If your use case involves filling it up with data once and then reading that data many times then this drive will be fine, as long as you're OK with waiting an hour just to fill it up. But for anything that requires repeated writing it is essentially junk.
