LAPTOP: I noticed that there is this intel 255 + 5070ti available for 1279 at santa clara. I understand that this does not have vapour cooling but the price is too good for a 5070ti .

It's decent but if I had to make a complaint that would be only 16gb Ram 32gb should be standard now days and a small 512gb Hard Drive. But all in all for 1279 you can invest a few bucks to compensate for that. So yeah for 1279 is a great deal I would say.

i read that the fan is loud. I also see that there is no vapour chamber cooling. I dont know if the motherboard is inferior compared to the asus rog strix series.

It's upgradable. Easy open up and throw in a 96gb. The only difference between 16 vs 32 for these are just $50 less wasted when upgrading to max spec.

You got caught by all the marketing stuff. Any gaming laptop fan is loud. It's the chip that is hot. The only difference is literally the fan speed vs temp you want to control it to. E.g. a laptop controlling the chip to 80c is usually quiter than a laptop controlling it to 65c. That's physics. Vapour chamber cooling...maybe yes, maybe no. Is that something everybody wants on their laptop? How many degrees can it reduce compared with the proven true air cooling? Also how come a motherboard is inferior compared to another? It's just a motherboard. Don't worry yourself too much on capacitors and those stuff. It's a motherboard in a laptop. 100% of people won't get any difference on anything including fault rate between a ok built and an excellent built motherboard. You are not overclocking on these...I have built PCs for more than 2 decades and always use the garbagest motherboard paired with the most advanced non-overclocking CPU except when I really need some functions of a good mb and yet to have any one die on me.

Thanks a lot for the clear responses. I plan to just run keyshot and photoshop. I got myself a asus vivobook with 13900H and rtx4060 last year . This thing runs much slower than my old Dell G3 that had a 9th gen processor with 1660ti. I was just curious if this laptop is a good upgrade and was a bit over cautious. I have now set a order for store pickup

Appreciate the inputs again!

That's what "you can invest a few bucks to compensate for that." meant.
