In for one, thanks! I guess it's time to see what all the hype is about.

I just got the 2 quart saucepan in the last sale. I am using it constantly. The pan is the perfect size to make a couple servings of rice/beans, heat a can or two of something, or whip up a pint of bechamel. I replaced a 1.5 quart cuisinart that I had for 25+ years, but always seemed a bit too small and unbalanced. The All-clad is not "tippy" and heats evenly because of its heft. The handle stays relatively cool, even when I crank the gas.
I wish I had bought this pan years ago.

They're not the most comfortable. They're not enough to cut you but they're not rolled. Larger pans it's more noticable due to the weights. It's a great pan but if you're worried about that, check out MadeIn.

Read the FAQ. I love the handles. They are designed for a firm grip that won't slip even if you're pouring from a heavy pan with a wet or greasy hand, or wearing an oven mitt.
But some people don't like them. That's why they have the D3 Everyday version with a different handle design.

They're fine. They're smooth and polished, not at all sharp, just not the most ergonomic. I've used mine for 20+ years and never understood the complaint about them. The Everyday and Curated lines have more comfortable handles if you think it'd be a problem.

Was looking at 3 qt sauce pans, would you still take the 2.5 qt saucier over it? It looks like the steamer should work in the 2.5 quart since it says anything 8 in diameter but obviously the specs do not match up three quart versus 2.5 quart.

I don't own the 2 1/2 quart saucier but if it's 8" diameter then the steamer insert should work. Here's a thought: get the saucier and the steamer insert, and also get the 3 quart sauce pan Woot deal that's also on slickdeals right now. That's a steal.

What are you talking about? I see lots of 3-qt options. Both Sauté and Saucepan shapes (and even a casserole, sauteuse, and everyday pan) in D3, Copper, D5, and Nonstick.

Tell me why I want the steamer vs using something like a steamer basket in a larger pot?
