The only person you can control is you get serious and start ridding your life rid of all plastic today. After you rid your life of plastic maybe a boycott and protests in front of REI to make some impact. That company has done more to destroy the little natural we have left than any I know.
When rich upscale usually city dwelling boomers that say they care about the environment get out into it they wreak havoc. Before you know it they have Starbucks, malls and EV charging stations built in once nice, rural and natural areas.

You see the environmental worry. Yet you will see the supposed environmentalist that voted for a bag ban and thinks themselves a saint feeling perfectly fine tearing out a perfectly fine kitchen and redoing a massive decks in plastic every couple years as styles change. Usually on a giant energy hog Mcmanion housing two people and dog. They live in houses that use the energy of whole city blocks or even small rural towns.
Worse they have overrun and ruined every small town, rural and onc natural area around me for hundreds of miles. It is not plastic that is blight it is them.
