Better deal here if you need an 8 pack, $9.19 per detector versus $11 per detector for the 3 pack:

I love these units they work well. I have another brand with a float but the app, support sucks and sms is a fee. I wish they had a plug in or model for a float so I can use it in a sump pit / pond / pool . I have asked them and they don't. I was thinking of soldering on a wire float

FYI if you're new to these check with your homeowner's insurance company, they might offer a premium discount for owning these type of sensors. 2 companies I've dealt with have a discount for water sensing and a larger discount for a system that integrates an auto shut off. The discount for sensing is enough to pay for something like this, let alone the fact you get it every year. The auto shut off discount isn't nearly enough to pay for that equipment though.

I agree, some offer discounts so definitely check with your insurance company.

These are great. I've had them for a year and a half now. Every couple of months I'll splash some water on them to test them, and they've always gone off.

The ones that OP posted are not 2nd gen of these water leak detectors. 2nd gen is a bit more money.

I got the Gen2 ones and recommend them. They caught a leaky bidet that would of otherwise caused some floorboard damage. I put in 15 scattered around the house. Got them on eBay over time and they ended up costing me less than $100. Saving you only once is worth it as water damage is no joke.

I was all about these until I found YoLink devices. Way more expensive, but next level.

These are still great and the price is hard to beat if you don't need valve auto shutting off, etc.

Have had these up for a few years now and they have performed well and hold good battery life.

What's the difference between these and the gen 2? I see the design is different, but looks like they have the same range and the battery life is longer on these than on gen2.

Batteries on the sensors I got two years ago last a long time. Will be two years this August and Gouvee app still shows them with about 75% battery. Accidentally set one off in my bathroom doing maintenance and they still work.

That's a good comparison between gen1 and gen2, but it looks like this version is the 1s which is different from both. It has LoRa, 5yr battery life, IP67, and supports 64 sensors per base.

Looks like Govee has three different water sensors: Original H5054 (now called Detector), the 1S H5059 (Detector 1S), and the Detector 2 (H5058). The hubs for each generation are also different.
