Not to beat a dead horse, but 256 gig ssd is small if you're doing anything other than browsing and light email/word processing.

There's little more annoying than being told you can't update the OS with the patch your Mac just downloaded b/c you don't have enough space… and now you're stuck with even less space on the ssd than usual b/c the downloaded update is still sitting around.

You can download the Costco app., and there is an option to check your local warehouse inventory. There are five icons at the bottom of the app., and if you select the fourth one called "Warehouse", you can search the inventory and pricing without having to call the warehouse. Good luck!

Let me get this straight. Someone has a complaint/critique that an $800 laptop doesn't have enough storage. And you think that's an invalid critique because you can pay a monthly recurring fee forever to get more storage?

And you think that the other person is a "boomer" because they think that's dumb?

You started saying not to beat it, but you then proceeded to beat that equine harder and faster than anything I've seen at the Kentucky Derby

Till 256Gb gets obsolete or when 512G starts becoming irrelevant.

You gotta find the right tool for the job at the right price. It's not for everyone, but I know what the use case is and it works exceedingly well.

While not a bad deal, I think that the current M4 15" Air 16GB/256 that's regularly on sale for $1049 may be worth the difference with slightly better performance and the added ability for 2 external monitors simultaneously with the internal display (the M3 could only do 1 I think).
