Lots of them in my area, Most likely display models that are being replaced with the S90F, probably have a lot of power on hours

I went to look at one of these today and it was boxed in the store with a note of "scratch and residue". It was taped/strapped and they told me I would need to buy it to be able to look at it out of the box so I didnt bother.

The guy did mention its possible or likely it was the display model in which case it wouldn't be a great deal especially considering a good amount of reviews mention these dying randomly.

Huh I didn't know Best Buy did shipping for open box. That would make it a lot more convenient for those bigger TVs!

Yeah, I didn't know that either. Over the years I have enjoyed the Best Buy Easter Egg hunt.

They also don't deliver nor install (mount) open box TVs. Learned this while shopping for an open box s90d a month ago. Ultimately bought a new one directly from Samsung because the difference wasn't that much during some sale.

Great screen, but hate the software.

They will only ship "excellent" grade, as they are complete in original packaging

Wouldn't this be covered under warranty, as the warranty starts when a consumer purchases the product?

There is one per store in several stores, indicating that it is very likely a display model. See note above that it will have a lot of hours on it.

Any retail place is going into dark mode at closing, why waste electricity? So yeah I'm 99% EVERYTHING gets turned off at night minus the alarm system.

I have purchased an open box (ie - store display) Best Buy big screen before... yeah it was cheap but I had nothing but problems with it. Has technology improved since then? Sure, but I'm not buying a display OLED unit, no thanks

Makes sense. At 15hrs a day for a year that's less than 6k hours. Nothing for these panels.

I'd be more worried about burn in of course.

I picked up an open box 65" s90d from a local outlet recently for $500. It had 6k hours but zero burn in or retention. A couple smudges on the screen but for a back porch it's it's amazing.

My store has the $1106.99 one but I hate to risk a fair condition. I also really didn't want that big and the F had big improvements. It's tempting, though. But also I think the 77 inch is the one that is known for psu issues.
