This is ewaste not even wifi6e
Been solid as my main router on OpenWRT for many years now. Everything is e-waste to you if you're chasing specs that end up being meaningless to you. I will say that you can just about cover 1400 sqft of you place it in the center of your residence, but not much more.
What openwrt firmware are using?
Also, was the mesh setup easy to setup? Did you happen to use any online guides or tutorials to setup the mesh?
Advice is most appreciated ☺️

I use ethernet backhaul for the wifi meshing... where I just setup the wifi with same ID and same password.

It's somewhat intimidating the first time not gonna lie. Here are my notes, please paste it into ChatGPT and ask it to format it for you, Slickdeals messed up my formatting
OpenWRT WDS
WDS Configuration Steps
On Your Main Router:
Set the wireless mode to Access Point (WDS).
Ensure WDS is enabled.
On Your OpenWrt Repeater / WDS Device:
Go to Network > Wireless.
Click Scan on the desired radio, join your main network.
Set the mode to Client (WDS).
Assign the wireless interface to the lan network.
Change the LAN IP address of OpenWrt to a unique IP in the same subnet as the main router.
Disable DHCP on the OpenWrt device (your main router will provide DHCP).
(Optional) Add a new Wi-Fi network in Access Point mode (on the same or another radio):
Use the same SSID and password as the main router for seamless roaming.

wds- On your main router, set the wireless mode to "Access Point (WDS)" and ensure it's enabled.- On your OpenWrt repeater/WDS device: - Go to **Network > Wireless**. - Click **Scan** on the desired radio, join your main network, and select **Client (WDS)** for mode. - Assign the wireless interface to the **lan** network. - Change your OpenWrt LAN IP to a unique address in the same subnet as your main router. - Disable the DHCP server on OpenWrt (since your main router will handle DHCP). - Optionally, add a new Wi-Fi network in **Access Point** mode (on the same or another radio) for local clients, using the same SSID/password for seamless roaming.
There isn't much right now that is super attractive yet in OpenWRT for wifi6E or wifi7.
