I have a lot of Ryobi tools and from my experience the oscillating tool and random orbit sander are trash. Everything else has been getting the job done but those two have failed me and the warranty has yet to fix them properly.

Is this a good deal if you aren't hacking it? I can't keep track of battery / tool prices anymore. I have a few Milwaukee tools but there are a bunch (multitool, dremel, etc) that I don't use enough to justify the Milwaukee premium.

$75+tx for overpriced hybrid light. $100+tx overpriced batteries/charger. If i return batteries/charger, $50+ for the light. Not worth the trouble.

Can't get the military discount to work after adding free tool. Best I could do was get tax-free thru exchange. Anyone had any luck getting both?

It's as good of a deal as you're going to find on this group of items outside of YMMV unreliable clearance deals.

If you want a couple batteries and one of these tools, it's a very good time to buy.

If it's not working, delete it from your cart and add it again. I found that saving an item for later takes away the discount even when moving it back to your cart.

Does anyone have the hedge trimmer with any thoughts? Reviews seem to complain about the safety/trigger mechanism. Always like to get more batteries, and could use the trimmer, but don't want to be disappointed.....
Can't help, didn't know there was a new model out.
I got the 22-inch model a couple years ago. About 1 lb heavier and 3200 spm vs 2600. Heavy but does the job. Mine also rotates - not that useful, frankly. But the extra 4" might be worth holding out for. Depends on your needs. Can't remember but don't think that there's any extra lock out feature.

  1. Follow the link above to the battery kit
  2. Select the free tool
  3. Add to cart
  4. Go to cart and select different pick up locations for the kit and tool
  5. Order
  6. View order and cancel what you don't want
If the cancellation doesn't work, wait for the unwanted item to be available for pick up and either:
  1. Call the store to cancel
  2. Wait a couple of weeks until it automatically cancels
  3. Pick it up and return it

Can we select Delivery and still cancel one of the items?

Already received items via home delivery. Can I just take back the batteries only separately?

Yes you can. The kit and tool should be individually priced on your receipt.

YMMV. Sometimes if you do it in the first 30 minutes, you can cancel one piece, but it often doesn't work.

Overall, if you specifically want one of the tools and will have utility in the extra batteries (or are starting out and these are your first batteries), then this is a good deal. Most of these tools won't be available for lower prices over the year with the exception of special clearance sales.
Typically $10/Ah is considered a good deal for batteries on a mainstream platform. Therefore, consider the 2Ah/4Ah kit worth around $60 (with free charger). Then, you just need to decide if any of the tools are worth $40 to you. Likewise, for the 2Ah/4Ah/4Ah kit, the batteries are a decent deal at $100 (with free charger) and so you would be paying $100 for the tool. For this one, the deal is a bit more marginal for the tools that are available separately for under $150 (angle grinder, HP circ saw, one-handed recip).
Pairing the 2Ah/4Ah/4Ah kit with a sub $100 tool (i.e., the ones that are also available with the 2Ah/4Ah) kit is definitely not a good deal. In fact you could get two of the 2Ah/4Ah kits plus two tools for the same price and so you would end up with one extra tool, one extra 4Ah battery and one extra charger.
