Mine is still in excellent shape after multiple washes but agreed I prefer the bigger pads. Have a glorious gamer and Lenovo legion one from previous slickdeals along with this on my two desks

This might be a dumb question but what does that matter? Honestly curious. I've had this mat for at least 3-4 years. Doesn't move, doesn't fray. Still looks good and holds up well. Not sure what a thicker mat would do more.
