Grabbed one from last deal a couple of weeks ago from B&H for $85. Great enclosure that stays cool all day and reliably fast.

This is probably the best enclosure on the market. Price here isnt great - not a deal, but great enclosure anyway.

not sure what you mean. USB 4 is compatible with TB3. My enclosure works just fine with TB3 devices.

does it get disconnected when ur pc goes to sleep? i have a different brand enclosure and gets disconnected every time my m1 mac goes to sleep.

My Mac mini never goes to sleep so I don't know. I use it to store my 4K movies for my plex server so it's just always on.

Unfortunately, there is a misconception here you are missing. Devices must opt in to TB3 legacy mode. Adds cost. Some newer USB4 devices will fall back to USB 3 on TB3 hosts. Others will take the effort to get a TB3 VID from Intel.

I'm using this enclosure as a home drive of my account. Over 6 months, I haven't had any issues with sleep mode and wake with my M4 Mac Mini.

I've got a Mac mini M1 and connected it to this enclosure, but even when it's idle (not accessing any files), the LED keeps blinking and there's a slight warmth to the touch. Seems like it never really goes into a true idle state. Curious if others are seeing the same behavior.
