Nice price. In for 1 (or should I say 40?) Never tried this flavor, sounds intriguing.

This is a pretty good flavor if you like Chocolate Chips in your Larabars. The Strawberry Chocolate Chip is another good one.

I never really cared for the other chocolate chip bars like the Banana, the Almond Butter, the Peanut Butter, and the Cookie Dough.

Does anyone happen to know (already done the research) if they use ethylene oxide or propylene oxide as the treatment on the hazelnuts or almonds that they use?

I appreciate being educated (and want to be), but I don't appreciate having yet another thing to be concerned with. At this point. I need a spreadsheet of every edible product, with corresponding information of what potentially negative "ingredients" to look for before buying. Looking forward to the 8-hr shopping trips

I think the only way to be free of potential negative ingredients is to grow all your own food and even then I don't believe you can avoid bad stuff altogether because I believe rain water and the ground are all iffy as well. Otherwise I would say just do the best you can and don't fret - people have been alive on less for a number of years - centuries even.

That's not even taking into account the chemicals used during processing which wouldn't show up anywhere on the label. Most vegetable oils are produced through an extraction process that uses hexanes (a component of crude oil). There's regulation that makes this "safe" by setting concentration limits on hexanes in the final product, but enforcement is mostly on an honor basis -- typically self-reported GC-MS data from the manufacturer. Audits are generally reactive, meaning that nobody puts in the effort to check these things until somebody gets hurt or dies.
