Do they have roasted dates on them? Because otherwise they are prolly old. Yes 2.2lbs at this price but old coffee isn't ideal. Especially each time you open it access it, they get stale more and more.

Just bought my first superautomatic and it's arriving tomorrow. Was interested in this deal to make my first cup, but the rocks in bag reviews scare the crap out of me.

Overly inflated. I have personally had 6 bags and all have been okay.

For espresso, yes having the most fresh coffee is great and ideal, but this is cheap and I got through 2.2 lbs a month. These beans have been very consistent and still produce great crema throughout the bag. I also use an airescape bin as well which helps.

Expresso from this will knock your socks off. Not sure about espresso; I usually buy locally. This is about what I pay for a pound locally, and a couple dollars cheaper than many boutique 12oz bags, so you don't have much to lose. Even if it sucks you could probably grind it for cold brew and make a couple gallons of drinkable stuff.
