Cheapest price ever as listed on CCC. Can't find a cheaper deal even on open boxes on ebay plus this is the newer brushless version. I strained on picking this up because I have a Mikita drill and impact that work great and are just fine, but this has amazing reviews and is handy for its size/weight and can get in odd places. Hopefully I can make some use of it.

Deal died sometime today but looks like it's back up!

Tempting, especially since I have (and love) the brushless drill and impact driver.

Just a thought if you already have a combo drill and impact 18v. I thinking getting this is better than a 12v combo drill/impact. you get the off-center and right angle attachments which help In tight situations and usually if you are doing light work like these are meant to be used for there is really no reason you would need an Impact anyways. If your job requires multiple longer/thicker fasteners then you go and grab the 18v Impact for the heavier duty stuff.

It's not an impact driver. It's an interchangeable head drill/driver with handy attachments for tight spaces, right angles, etc.

There's no such thing as an "impact drill/driver."

I got the brushed version of this a year ago or so and I absolutely hate it. The reason I hate it is because the heads are easily unlocked. So often, when I use my hand to lock and unlock the drill chuck, I end up unlocking the head and it will slide off the next time I point the drill downwards. They should have made the hand chuck head harder to unlock OR made it more stuck onto the drill when unlocked. I've dropped the head so many times now and I dread dropping it with a drill bit or phillips on to my feet one day.
I'd recommend the milwaukee 12 volt version of this tool instead.

Dewalt recently came out with a xtreme 12v version of this as well. $179 MSRP so might be less expensive than this if it goes on sale.

Despite its talk of "hybrid", it says "impact driver" right in the name.

It also has the advantage of a little more power and getting super close to the wall on the right angle. But it's also the heaviest, and personally I dislike the form factor being so much bigger and bulkier. As you said it also costs more, but yeah if it went on sale could be a contender. See comparison vid below.

Maktia XPT02Z 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless Hybrid 4-Function Impact-Hammer-Driver-Drill

Drill-driver mode is clearly indicated multiple times in the features, in the graphics, and on the drill itself.

Any impact driver can be used as a drill. That's where the impact rated drill bits are for.
