There's no latency if you hook this up correctly. You either had a lemon, a bad cable, or you hooked it up incorrectly. Govee responds to what's on the screen, so by definition it's delayed. This responds to the video signal as it's being sent to the tv.
Gift card is for $35 for those wondering.
Really? I have the original and the "new" model hooked up with the HDMI sync box and it's spot on. Were you using the sync box as well ?

I almost thought this is 65 feet for $165. Seriously a 5 foot strip light for $165? What am I missing?

Now if anyone has a sale on the sync box. I've been waiting so long the version with 2.1 will probably release.

The strip comes with plastic curved corners and other stick-on guides to help it fit nicely to the back of your TV. Installation is pretty simple.

As others have said, you'll want the Sync Box as soon as you get this. I fell for it all and love the setup on our 77" OLED, but man it's not cheap. This is a great price tho, and if you can find a similar deal on the Sync Box you'd really be in luck!

Note: this does not include the HDMI Sync box, which is the brains and required for this to work. Also need the Hue bridge.

I've heard great things about this product, fwiw. Especially nice if you've already in the Hue ecosystem.
Oh wow, didn't realize that. These are way too expensive for me then and I just bought a $3,000 tv. LOL, guess I don't care about lighting that much

If anyone is using the TV built-in app, the sync box would not pick up signal from TV. Video sources must be coming from external. Is it correct?

There is no v3 bridge.
Not by name. But for clarity, there are V1, V2, and V2.1 bridges.

For others that might be curious, V2.1 contains a functionally similar board to the V2 bridge that is cheaper to manufacture.

Ordered a strip to replace my light bars.

One 65" strip is what I need for a 65" tv, right?
The strips are designed to cover the left, right and top portion of the back of the TV. It does not cover the lower part of the TV. For my setup, I use a play bar on the bottom of the TV in addition to this light strip.

Not completely true… the HDMI Sync Box reads the video signal directly, but that info then gets sent to the Hue Hub, which then sends the info to the Lightstrip. The Sync Box is not connected directly to the Lightstrip and relies on wireless signals. If there's wireless interference, there will be delays.

The Lightstrips work a little differently than standard Hue bulbs. A Hue bulb will handshake with the Hub when a command is sent to say "yes, I've received the command and the command has been executed." The Lighstrip usually functions one way, receiving commands and immediately reacting so as to reduce latency.

See this video I made of the Casino Royale intro and you can clearly see delays. I had to play with the Zigbee channel to reduce delays.

$500 for a syn box and 75" light strip? Are they crazy? And it uses Wi-Fi? They are definitely crazy.
