It's about the same. The big benefit is the ease of use (you can throw some packets in a bag and take to work without having to squeeze lemons) and not having them go bad from sitting around waiting to be used. If you have lemons around year round and don't mind the work, they'll probably work just the same.

The 100 packets tend to last me a very long time
I guess it depends on how much you want to spend on fresh lemons as opposed to these packets. It's considerably cheaper for these than fresh or unripe lemons.
GREAT product! Makes it easy to always have pure lemon flavoring in the kitchen, without managing fresh fruit with potential spoilage. Easy, natural flavor for marinades, cold beverages (I drink LOTS of iced tea, all year long) and many other uses. This product has gotten progressively more expensive over the years, but certainly has value. This is a decent price for someone to give it a try.

So how is this different from adding some freshly-squeezed lemon juice to water? Not casting doubt, genuinely want to know. I try to drink a lot of water but sometimes it's just hard and you need to add something to get it down.

The price seems to hover around this range, so not an amazing deal but still definitely worth it!

The Lime one is great and when added to a coca cola makes a better version of the Coke w/ Lime at the freestyle machines (since I don't think that one's available anywhere outside of the freestyle machines)

These have been great when I want to make individual lemonade for my kids and they last longer than fresh lemons.

Convenience. My wife takes some to work to have in her locker and can pull a couple out at anytime to add to her water. Thats not something you can really do with a fresh lemon. Plus all that squeezing, collecting in a dish to pour into a bottle/glass , picking out the seeds that dropped in etc. It is really good stuff and handy to have to add to recipes too - the same for the lime they do also.

Also the convenience of taking a few packets vs a pocket full of lemons when on the go ..

This! I currently have 3 shrunken lemons in my fruit basket because I didn't get around to using them. In for 1, thanks OP!

these are really great for tea. sometimes one or two packets will have become a chunk and it will be a minute before it dissolves but it still tastes the same. I bought the lime version years ago and I'm still working on it.

Conveniece this is a great to have.

However you do loose some of the nutrition value and more importantly the beneficial enzymes you get from fresh squeezed vs this.

This is great with my hot tea. I get about 4-5 servings from each packet as this stuff is very concentrated.
