I have this mower (well the $800 one that comes with a 10ah battery and better charger).

This mower cuts way way way better than the 40v ryobi I had. I get around 75min of runtime which I need for my hilly 0.33 acre yard. If expect about an hour on the 7.5ah.

If you need more than 55min to mow your lawn id highly suggest just shelling out for the bigger battery + faster charger + 5yr battery warranty vs 3yr battery warranty on this one. Ego is very good about giving replacement batteries under warranty.

Does the 10% off one item coupon work for this?

I've already convinced myself to not get an electric mower. But if I were I'd need it to get cheaper than this. Maybe in the winter. But I'm in Houston so we probly don't get any good winter sales since they don't sale snowblowers here. They don't need to make room for them.

I would not recommend this if you live on a wooded lot. I bought the $800 model and it would leave behind tiny twigs whereas my basic gas mower sucks them up and chops them.
this.

I also bought 3 other garden tools each with 2.5Ah batteries. Thinking I'll have one 7.5ah and 3x2.5ah batteries and it'll be enough. The problem is 3x2.5 ah batteries do not equal the 7.5ah one. It's not a problem of capacity. The 2.5ah ones heat up so quickly that if the grass is slightly high or slightly wet, I can barely get through one or two lines across my backyard. And all this is without using the propel function. I dare not use the sel-propelling.
The power you can draw from a battery is related to the capacity. Drawing at a rate much higher is what results in the heating, and will reduce the life of the battery. IIRC I recently read that the higher capacity batteries also have cooling built into the package. The minimum you should use on these mowers is 5AH. You can, however, use a higher capacity battery on things that require lower power (e.g., a 7.5AH on a blower). It's nice that the batteries are interchangeable, but you still have to pay attention to the capacity vs power consumption.

People say 57W ego equal to 80W from another company. I'm sure Ego does more with their 57W than others if similar pier rating with their dual cut blades etc. so I can believe they would be more powerful than say a 60W one. But end of the day it's just a battery spinning a motor. Designs between companies are not that different. They can't magically make it more powerful than a 80W mower.
Do you mean 57V and 80V?

My lot is about 3/4 acre with moderate hills. We've been using the LM2100SP for going on 5 years, but it takes a long time and is showing signs of wear. Sounds like I should spend the extra $120 and go for the Select Cut XP?
Yes, with the 10Ah battery for as much lawn as you have.

Sometimes I will cut the front and a side and the battery will be between 40-60% and I will recharge it while I edge, weedwack, and blow with my other batteries, so I don't need to be concerned with the 10Ah running out. Then finish the back and other side that way I am not storing the battery fully charged which supposedly decrease its lifespan but also always have it half way charged not dead should I need it.

I tried the old LM2100 model around 4 years ago and returned it. It took way too long to cut and it was so light that it would pop wheelies on my hill. The XP is a beast in comparison and will save you time.

There's a promo pdf on ego's site somewhere, but the new model has 2 blades and significantly more horsepower
So here is the breakdown

LM210 Series - 5.9 ft/lb torque

LM213 Series - 7.0 ft/lb torque

LM214 Series - 8.3 ft/lb torque Twin Battery

LM215 Series - 8.3 ft/lb torque

Interesting though because your LM215 Series is 8lbs lighter overall than the LM210 Series,,
I guess though the 10ah battery is heavier than a 7.5 or 5 that a LM2100 would have so it balances the machine or better ( 4 years ago you could have had an even smaller & lighter battery like a 4ah or possibly a 2.5ah🤯)

I have this mower and I prefer it compared to gas. But the issue it has it overheats and glows the orange light randomly on me with regular mow. I would have the overheating issue at least 8-10 times. Their warranty support is not good as they send you to third party who have no clue and could not find anything wrong with it. I still had to pay diagnosis fee because they couldnt find anything wrong. It is great when it works though. Hope others have better experience. Just my two cents

was reminded of a few quirks compared to my 20yo Honda commercial. The speed dial on handle takes some getting used to but it's very good and doesn't get caught up on bushes. The drive button on handle are a little too easy to hit accidently, Honda wins that one. Also thought I had mower die but so switched to backup 5Ah battery when I realized one of the green safety latches weren't shut on handle. The 5Ah didn't quite make it through two lawns like the 7.5Ah.

I suppose I could come up with other "issues" but the trade off in less maintenance, smell and noise is well worth it. I'm glad I had the deal in the spring, plenty of time to evaluate.

Opinion needed.

My military discount cannot be used on sale items. However I CAN apply it to the full-priced Select Cut XP model.

Should I get the LM2135SP for $599 or the Select Cut XP for $719 ($120 price difference)?
Many times when my military discount won't work on an item, I buy a 10% code from eBay or do a quick Google search and find a site that has them. These codes have always worked for me, but I can't guarantee it will work on this. To me, it is always worth the $2-4 to see if I can save $70+ on an item.

I have the XP with 10Ah battery (Model #LM2156SP). This is my first season with it so I have not tried switching out the blades for leaves yet. I use it on height setting 4 and the mulching blades work better than my old Toro as there are no visible clippings left behind as long as the grass is not wet when cutting so avoid early morning cuts and after a rainfall. Wet cuts also drain the battery faster.

If you have a lot of steep hills like I do you may want to pass on this model but for a flat lawn 1/3 of an acre or less this should work fine. It is quieter and not having to get gas is great.

A few minor issues perhaps someone can give me some pro-tips on. There is a learning curve so don't judge it after your first cut probably after the third would be best.

It leaves "ridges" between passes and unless you are going to overlap your cuts which takes more time and battery life I have not found a way to get a totally flat even cut. If you have twigs in your grass you should walk around and pick them up first if using the mulching blade as it will not lift them off the lawn to cut them. Perhaps the high lift blade will?

The control levers need a redesign IMO. It is too easy to accidentally engage the self-propelled motor when the blades are off. I know this is a convenience feature for being able to move the mower when not on grass or to not double cut the lawn but it engages by just putting 1 finger where you would naturally rest your hands on the handle. I have tried alternative hand positions but none are as comfortable as where they need to be to engage the motor. The self-propelled speed control nob is garbage. The demarcations between speeds are indistinguishable and too easily changed. My first cut I was under some hedges and I thought the mower stopped working but one of the branches pushed the rotary dial from notch 8 of 10 to notch 0. That has happened a few other times but now I know how to resolve it. I mostly use the mower on notch 8 and would use duct tape or some other way to lock it in place but for tight areas and my curbing I need to go much slower.

Besides that no issues and my cut time is down 20 minutes in comparison to my old heavy toro.
The high lift blade is a game changer, even when mulching. No more ridges.

I have this with the 7.5 amp battery, I love it, had it since April or May. great performance, I always mulch with it, and its lighter than regular mowers.
Easy cleanup, easy storage. Battery life is great and I have a lot of property to mow.
I want to later get the 16inch weed wacker too !!!
