A quick Google search shows PS5 version performs better for some reason. Spend $5 more I'd say.

I got the PS5 version a few days ago for under $10 after Target price match and Redcard. Looks like that deal ended.

Does this game have something that previous Xbox releases of GTA5 don't? I have a release that I got about 5 years ago. Like is this uniquely optimized for Series X or something?

I'm not a fanboy I have both PS5 and Series X and you don't know what your talking about. For reference the 360 was also spanking the PS3 and it was only the PS4 that beat the XB1 and it was mostly because Microsoft decided to screw over gamers so Microsoft has been winning for most of the past two decades.

The Series X is the superior console in power, hardware, software, Gamepass and backwards compatibility. I spend almost all my time on the Series X and I rarely turn on my PS5. Even if that wasn't the case the backwards compatibility is enough since Sony is greedy and cannot be relied on to preserve games yet Microsoft is doing everything right to win gamers back.

Sony and the PS5 are just good for the exclusives and games like this where they run better than on Series X (which rarely happens), outside of those two scenarios the Series X is the superior console.

It's upgraded visually (not a whole lot but you can see it) and load times, but the 60fps upgrade is the selling point imo.

The only thing the PS5 wins on, besides the exclusives (many of which now head to PC) are its NVMe replaceable internal drive.
