I have subs for the lemon, lime and orange
These are great
Toss a couple into plain water, tea or seltzer water and you wont need soda anymore
I add Sweet-n-Low as well (stay away from aspartame)

Both Lime and Lemon flavors are on sale. Picked the Lemon one to mix with my homemade tea. Thanks!

What is typical shelf-life on these? Is an expiration date something that would preclude a bulk purchase?

The lime is cheaper for the 500 pack if you think you can finish them (I do easily).
They last years. I don't keep track, but I'd say after year 2 or 3 (only b/c I misplaced them), if you live in a humid climate like I do, they melt and clump together. Still usable. My little nieces & nephews are constantly drinking my bottle of lime water lol. Also, perfectly delicious for lime replacement in things like pho. Bright and fresh.

Never tried it before. Except for carrying with you (purse, pocket, etc), wouldn't just using regular lime juice be better? (bottled, prev frozen, etc.) I guess this has better shelf life and takes up less space, but if it's something you use all the time I'd think just getting juice would be best.

They do expire and should have the expiration date on the box just not on the individual packets. I think the expiration date is 2 years from manufacturing date. They can go bad even earlier than that. You went to keep them in an alright container or maybe even a reusable vacuum sealed bag to make them last longer. I use a gallon sized resealable food saver bag with a moisture control packet (one of those silica gel packets that come inside certain items like shoes, bags, food, and the like) of moisture gets to the packets they can turn hard and clumpy. From what I've seen and heard once powdered items get wet they are no longer good for consumption.

These taste better than the bottled stuff. Buy a box and give it a try.
