You can really do everything in a Weber Kettle though. Smoke, low and slow, fast and hot etc. There is also a very large aftermarket accessory ecosystem for it. The cast iron grates are amazing.
However with all the "needed" accessories you quickly add 100 here, another 100 there and you should have just gotten a more expensive grill that came with those.
If you're set on a kettle, then this is probably the one to get. This has the nice ash catch on it and the fold up grates to add more charcoal for when you smoke.
When the one I have needs to be replaced I probably wont get another. It's a pain to smoke on, a pain to clean and it's just overall messy. Maybe i'll explore the pellet options or a drum style grill. Plus I know I didn't pay 175 for it, these used to be cheap and simple. A no-brainer. At 175 it's not, and its absolutely not at 232.
Same with the "One-Touch cleaning system". Unusable after a year due to rust.

I have been grilling for a few years with the kettle, and it has been holding up very well. I am very happy with the purchase.

The weber kettle is a great grill. As for the price: just a couple years ago, this would've been considered a lukewarm deal. Now thst msrp is $240, it's a solid deal.
I have this same weber and an akorn. They are very different grills.
The akorn is very well insulated, and can run forever on one load of charcoal. It's very well suited for low and slow cooking for this reason. Kamados also take a little longer to learn how to cook on.
The weber is 6 years old and still looks brand new once I clean it up (it's been kept covered). Akorns have known issues with longevity, which can largely be avoided if you can keep it dry. Still, I wouldn't expect it to last you 15 years like a weber kettle likely would.
If it were me, I'd probably start with a kettle if you've never had a charcoal grill.

It's held up well, even in direct sunlight, rain, etc. I don't take care of it, but it takes care of me.
