I have the Walmart one and never cooked anything above 50%. That thing gets really hot
I dont get why over half of their grills don't have hoods. Like it is such a premium feature. I get you dont close it while its cooking but to be able to just shut it when you're done is where I'm at with a grill. I won't buy one without and I'm not paying a huge premium either.

This one is 60,000 BTU's vs Walmart's 38,000 - I keep looking at the Walmart one, but feel that's a pretty big difference in heat output.

Supposedly the Walmart one has an updated grill surface which makes it more efficient?

I don't know enough about them to say, but the thread from the BJ's deal seemed to mostly say the Walmart one was not as good (lesser quality, long time to heat up)

Does it feel "cheap" to you? I was ready to pull the trigger until I read some of the comments on another thread.

The Walmart one is 36,000 BTUs. The real ones are 60,000. That's why they are so cheap.

sorta wrong. walmart one has the new omnivore griddle. it has built in windblock so it doens't need as much BTU and gets just as hot

it's better because you save on propane.

EDIT:
i should also add, the omnivore griddle is what you find on the higher end blackstones like the culinary series

This. Mine at max heat burns the seasoning right off the griddle.
