Is this the newer style case that is easier to get bits in and out of? I have the set from about a year ago which is impossibly difficult to work with — I know from looking through the other deal threads in them that it's a common complaint.

Based on this from the desc I think it is —- Set is organized in a customizable accessory case designed for use in PACKOUT.
While the cases have been changed to be used with PACKOUT I did not know they changed the case to make it easier to remove the bits.

A closer look at the product photos shows the bit holders tilt out and it says easy removal.

Yes. They're pretty nice too, I have a handful of them and consolidated a bunch of drills/bits into one case ("to rule them all"): https://i.imgur.com/luMbuba.png

Yeah supposedly they did. I read that while skimming through other threads that they had made it easier.

FWIW my cases also have tilting bit holders but the individual slots are very tight and it takes an inordinate amount of strength to get the bits in and out.

Looks like they opened up the fronts of the slots so u can pry them out rather than having to pull them out. Glad they did this.

Also.....looking at the HD pics I had no idea you could take the bit holders out and actually mount them on drills and impacts in lieu of the belt clip.....THATS pretty cool I had no idea lol

Since most of the drills/drivers have the belt clip attachment on both sides, I believe that you can mount them on the drill while keeping the belt clip. Or mount them on both sides if you don't need the belt clip.

Nice setup. I'd buy this configuration if they offered it.

Thoughts about how this compares to the 75pc deal that was posted previously?

I purchased last year a big container Milwaukee full of bits that I take on all projects, since it has everything imaginable, except drill bits. When I bought it, I worried it would be hard to take the bits out, then forgot about concern. So, no problems with their recent bit holders.

The 2" bits are the most versatile to be used with powered drivers. Those 3.5" bits are invaluable when you need them. Got this set for 40 in May. HD is refunding the difference. Thanks OP!
