Yes and no, unfortunately the truth takes time and is difficult to get. If I can elaborate... even from the same factory a slight change in ordered spec will make a difference that is there, but is hard to detect so usually cheaper wins. For example, your Hourusdy brand, the spec is assumed to be correct, hardness of 54 to 58 HRC (rockwell c hardness) vs the claimed amazon brand hardness of 52 to 58 HRC. More of the amazon brand will pass quality control therefore will cost less to make per unit simply because their tolerance is looser by allowing out of spec hardness to go to 52 instead of the hourusdy spec that will reject 52 and 53 tested hardness and will only pass 54 and above. So brand name or rather, brand reputation or that trust is what you are buying. Some brands are simply willing to hold the quality of their goods to a higher standard and so the cost will go up. Do you trust horusdy more or amazon more ? That is what the bottom line is. I have no opinion either way, so maybe a look through reviews might give you a better idea ?
I don't think Horusdy is a name brand...

A little insight into a lot of products you see on Amazon, like these tools for example. These products are often manufactured in the same factory, but get stamped with different brand logos and the end of their manufacturing process.

You'll often see a lot of branded products on Amazon whose name barely makes any sense, but if you pay close attention there's multiple listings for the exact same product, just with different brand names. Just because a product has a logo stamped on it, it doesn't automatically mean it's better quality.
What the heck is Horusdy? That's not a name brand. I'm sure it's the same Chinese junk as the Amazon one. Debating if I want a set to toss in the garage though.

Is there a reason why I should buy the amazon one when this name brand one is only a few dollars more?

These are pretty soft. If you don't mind maintaining them or you're not using them seriously, then they should be ok for light use.

It is as if from a name generator. And a bad one at that. Horusdy. 😂

I tried using them "seriously" and my house fell down, my wife left me, and I lost my job.

I mean, really?

They're a set of punches for $14. Harbor Freight has a similar set without the taper punches for $17, so you'd have to do some digging to find these any cheaper.

It's number one best seller or something like that. All of these are no name brands.

For example, the 20 piece Tekton set is $105 and the Mayhew 24 piece set is $139.

Both are made in the USA.

I have a ton of Mayhew, Greenfield, Proto, Nicholson etc punches, chisels and files. All USA made.

If you aren't in a hurry, you can pickup all kinds of singles for less than a buck a piece. They all still work exactly as they should.

It is pretty amazing how fast a pin punch from China mushrooms out. It can ruin a piece in short order.

My experience with cheap punches has been bad. They mushroom out and are effectively useless. This is especially true of cheap brass punches.

I've had good success with Starrett punches, but they aren't cheap.

Funny enough, the best sellers are rarely the best products. They are almost always cheap. Sometimes they strike a good balance between being cheap and decent quality, and other times not.

My condolences for your loss. I'm surprised you didn't kick your dog, burn your truck, or end up writing a country ballad about it.

I get it, you get offended about people posting about their experience with a product. Good for you I guess.

You're just being xenophobic and not hiding it well.

Every product has some anecdote about how it isn't the best of its class, yet somehow it's equally as productive to mention that a $1 punch might not be top of the line?

If you're doing production level work, that's one thing and this thread is a waste of your time. The other 99.9% of us have already tempered our expectations just by reading the title.
