Do they not make the 9.0ah ones anymore? I got a few of those back when they were had for $30 a piece. That was the best deal ever.

These 8.0 look just as big!

I got one of the multi pack of batteries several months ago, and it had a 6.0 battery.
Comparing it to the 4.0 battery, they are the exact same size on the outside.

$12.50/ahr. "Regular price" (considering how often sales run) for *other sized batteries* is $10/ahr, and a "good/great deal" is less than that. That said, OP is probably correct when saying "best deal *for this size.*"

4 ahr batteries (regular kind, not HP) can currently be got for $5/ahr using this deal and the Home Depot "hack": https://slickdeals.net/f/16931932-2-pack-ryobi-one-18v-4ah-battery-charger-kit-select-free-brushless-ryobi-one-tool-99-more-free-shipping?src=SiteSearch

Lithium batteries a problem everywhere it seems like

"Fires on battery powered tools increase"

"There has been a steady increase in the number of fires associated with portable tools that use lithium-ion and lithium polymer batteries across the Australian mining industry.

A series of key safety recommendations have been made by the NSW Resources Regulator in relation to the use, charging and storage of these types of battery-powered tools.

Of course fires increase. They sell a buttload more of them these days than they used to.

Did you know there are also more car crashes today than there were in the 1700s? We should also stop buying cars!

Just heard on the radio - NYC had over 100 lithium fires and 13 deaths this year. No reason to buy lithium tools instead of safer types, Especially since the lithiums cost more. Higher prices for more risks. Not a deal for smart people

NYC over 100 lithium fires

Please show me some safer batteries to put in my Ryobi tools. Or please show me an alternative tool ecosystem with comparable options, cheaper prices (your claim), and safer batteries.

Yeah, but those fires were from cheap ebikes and scooters, not name-brand power tools. As long as you get real batteries (not knock-offs) from a real tool company, there won't be much of a problem unless you do something stupid like try to charge a damaged one.

I'm with the guy that mentioned the 9Ah for $30. I picked up 10 of them in that deal and kept 4 and sold the rest locally for double my money. Not going to be converting down to 8Ah. This reminds me of the short period when we got 3Ah instead of 4Ah when the new +HP batteries came out. The 3's are still really good batteries, but they were the size of the 4Ah with shorter run time. The 12Ah 2 pack for $199 seems more like a deal to me.

Cars are far more dangerous and cause far, far, far more than 13 deaths each year. Why are you, your whole family, likely your whole community still using cars ? Also using your words, are you, your family, your whole community not smart people ? The same can be said for knives, causes far more than 13 deaths per year..... yet still in your kitchen yes ? Address those and perhaps after that should you address lithium batteries and it's extremely paltry 13 deaths, comparatively.

That was my point. That would be the deal, not 2 8Ah.
