I prefer ARC, but it is not so bad since the soundbar can learn the volume signal. I would never consider one for my main TV but this is fine for a guest room to me.

You're right, that's just not right! Thankfully I was able to pick up an Open Box - Excellent for $154 yesterday. Perhaps there's some YMMV for in-store stuff.
