It's all you'd want for this. Range is the only major requirement.
Yep agreed - the range is more important than the speed - not much speed needed for clicking lights on and off. 2.4 Ghz is the service band IMO. 5 Ghz is for the human facing devices where download speed for streaming etc. is important.

The 4 pack is $21.99 also. I am having issues connecting my 2020 versions of these so I will try these new ones. Yes I disabled the 5G and still couldn't get them to install on their app. The outdoor one is also on sale but only has 1 plug. Thanks for sharing!

I like this brand....but i think long term they are moving away from this and going to the Tapo line, which is what is used globally.

Yeah I have a number of TP-Link Kasa products including a collection of their smart plugs. I recently picked up a 3 pack of their Tapo Matter compliant plugs when I needed to backfill for a couple of the Kasas that I usually use for holiday lighting that had been pressed in to service for some smart home automations with Home Assistant.

I figured between the Tapo 3 pack matching how many plugs I needed, and the price (on sale) being within a buck or two of the Kasas, I might as well start cutting over. While I don't think Matter will "matter" for some time yet, I figured it couldn't hurt to start cutting over moving forward where I can.

Since you are using bothTapo and Kasa devices I wanted to check if you observed any conflicts or a change in the wifi coverage range (distance from router)

Only with physical switch settings heaters where the setting and power can be selected with the power turned off such as most old heaters and electric blankets. Any heaters with touch buttons will not be able to be controlled as they power on with the heat turned off.

I have Tapo and Kasa. I notice no difference and use the Tapo app now to control everything. I did have to use the Kasa app recently to set up a new device but then went right back to Tapo.

I had no idea about tapo change. I have like 20 smart tp plugs and recently bought some more. Should I have bought the tapo versions or are the kasa versions just as good?
