I bought this last year. Not a fan. The blue LED is impossible to see in the daytime. The unit itself is not really intuitive and the display can be confusing. I have a schumacher one i prefer over this every time.
Sae connector is a standard plug male/female. With this you can switch out the end connection to a ring terminals for batteries like marine batteries or a lot of other custom connectors. You can also extend the length of the wire.
May I know what is SAE connector? Is that a must with this item?

Is this a jump starter? I think not, can someone tell us in a nutshell why we would need this, under what circumstances?

Take care of your ride-on mower battery in the winter? Or keep the battery in a rarely used car charged?

This charger is kind of worst of both worlds. It doesn't have a cable that stays attached to the battery with a SAE or Noco plug on the other end, but also under powered for fast charging a completely dead battery to full.

If I had to pick one, I'd go with a trickle charger that has a cable that stays attached to the battery and has a SAE plug. There are plenty under $20. They don't have many amps, but it doesn't need much when it's actually used for trickle charging. Regularly using a trickle charger can help your battery last years longer, especially if it's used rarely enough that you might not noticing it going dead.

Then if you're still worried about needing to quickly charge a dead battery, get a charger with at least 10 amps, or 15 amps if you have a vehicle that uses a larger battery. Either of those can go for under $25.

I've had good experience with the few Noco chargers I have, but they charge way too much for their cables. At least the clamps are removable and the eyelets that attached to the clamps do fit onto the battery clamps of my vehicles. I use all my Noco's as trickle chargers, and they're used whenever a vehicle won't be used for days, especially in the winter.

this are sold for $10 in Temu. Stay away, just pay a little more and get a better one
No disrespect but half of the inventory on Amazon is from Temu. Unfortunately we don't produce anything in the US. Even Japan uses Chinese manufactures. Echo for instance.

For the expert, do we have to remove the battery or can it stays on the car while having it plugged in?

Im not an expert. That being said with all the electronics the new cars have it would seem safer to isolate the charger from the electronics.

If you buy this one and the one the OP's deal, you'll receive multiple discounts and get both for $35.52.
I can't speak to the OP's unit but I have been using this unit for the last 2 years to maintain the battery in my 63 Corvair and it's been great so far. I don't miss having SAE since the unit runs all winter then sits on a shelf spring thru fall so only 1 swap per year. The settings can be tricky at first but once set it's been reliable as a trickle/maintainer.

I tried one of these months back and sent it back. It was putting out extremely high voltage and there was no way I'd leave it unattended like that.

I could hear the water boiling inside a wet cell battery and no other charger I've ever owned has done that.

I ended up shelling out money and got a NOCO brand charger that is what these cheap chargers are trying to copy.

Would you please consider advising me of a relatively cheap & simple one that you know would be good for my Snapper Pro zero turns , maintain their batteries?
