Good mouse, have been waiting for to go on sale. I've used it the past 4 years., and it's still working although the rubber coating has peeled considerably. I tried a cheaper Anker model and it wasn't nearly as good, so back to this I go for round 2.
My favorite mouse of all time. I've purchased three of them.

That's odd.... three? "Why three? " you ask. Because of Logitech's absolutely abysmal reliability. There is a very well know issue with this mouse's clicker switches. Search google for "mx vertical drag" or "mx vertical microswitch". There's actually a mini-industry of people providing the service of replacing this (and others, as well) mouse's switches once they inevitably fail.

But it's still my all time favorite mouse. I finally had to draw a line and stop buying them on principle. I'm currently using their other vertical mouse, the "Lift". It's ok. The vertical MX Vertical was much, much more comfortable for me with my big hands. Oh well.

If you do buy this, get the amazon extended warranty. I promise you that YOU WILL USE IT. Fair warning provided....
I have tried all kinds of ergonomic mouses. If you are looking for something that would alleviate your shoulder pain, go with the Ergo M575 trackball mouse. It is a game changer. It would take a day or two to get accustomed, but once you are through, there is no going back.

What a timing. I've been trying out MX Master 3S and it wasn't really helping and was looking to replace it again with a vert mouse

Great mouse! I have two, one for work. If you have small hands they recommend the Lift model, almost bought because it was cheaper but I don't have small hands. Seriously, not a size joke.

Second this... I have been using this for the last 10 years and its really a game changer. The M575 and then I upgraded upto MX Ergo Advanced Wireless Trackball recently.

Average Amazon price $91, on sale for $77...not a huge deal, maybe 15 percent off.

Alternatively, Logitech lift is a good vertical mouse (bit smaller size). That's $48 refurb on Amazon or $70 new

Does it let you switch between two computers with a physical button?

M575 comes with a USB dongle as well as Bluetooth. You should be able to use each one of them separately to connect to two devices.

I have this one plus the MX Master 3s. I switch between the two and like both of them a lot. The side scroll on the MX master is wonderful. The ergonomics of the plain MX is nice. I will say that the MX (this mouse) sensitivity adjustments are better than the MX master.

From experience, do not purchase the Lift unless you have TINY hands.

How well do these work without special software installed? Is there any significant functionality being given up?

On my gaming PC I use a G604 Lightspeed which has been a good mouse, but the Logitech software is just awful, doing stupid things like keeping a whole CPU core pegged at 100% while sitting in the background doing nothing, and so I live with reduced functionality without the software.
