I own a gourmia air fryer, similar but not exact. I bought it for about $60 in 2020. I love it, and no longer use my regular oven. (I now store potatoes and cereal boxes in there.)

Mine fits a 12" frozen pizza, like Tony's, Red Baron, Tombstone, etc. I make 4 pieces of toast in it, and I can see if they're getting too dark. I donated my old 2 slice toaster. It preheats so fast, I usually don't even preheat, just slide those chicken tenders in. This cooks them faster, too. Like 400F for 11 minutes. It's wonderful on baked chicken thighs.

The downside was that it's beyond difficult to clean. From day 1, it developed those brown grease stains. Underneath and around the heating elements are impossible to scrub. I've seen people posting on Reddit, asking how to clean and I chickened out on using Easy Off, because a few people said the sides might be aluminum which "pits" with oven cleaners. I've accepted that the inside looks gross, but my food isn't touching the interior other than the rack. So actually, it's a win. One less thing to scrub clean on my day off.

I, personally, would not want the "basket" air fryers. This really is a glorified toaster oven air fryer, which holds more food and can do other things as well. Mine is parked on top my microwave over, on top a microwave cart.

So you're saying that you prefer the toaster oven style vs the basket?
I think your saying the toaster is better bc it can fit in more on the shelf vs crowding the and layering in the basket.
My only concern is all the fat dripping down to the bottom of the oven. I currently have the basket style, however I find that it's too small when making chicken wings, i have to do it in 2 batches. I also like the basket because it's so easy to clean. Now I don't know if I should switch to the toaster style.

Do you think its worth it to go with this bigger one for $100 if I will actually start using it more than my oven?

Mine came with three rack choices. (It's about 12" across, since that's the size pizza it can hold.) I can use all three racks simultaneously, if I want to. One is a solid pan, which holds all drips. I have used a small cookie-cooling rack on top the solid pan, just to hold drippy foods, like mozzarella sticks or chicken thighs. Another included rack is a standard wire rack and then the third is a mesh rack. I used all three racks by putting the mesh rack with tots on the top shelf, the middle wire rack had tenders, and the bottom pan rack baked sweet potato slices. Weird, but it worked so everything got done simultaneously. There's a crumb tray under the heating element coils, which comes out easily to clean. Mines already greasy, but I have heard mixed opinions on using foil overtop?

This appears to be the newer version of mine. You can view the racks in product pics.

This one is much larger capacity, and the French doors is innovative. "Extra-large capacity fits a 13'' pizza, 9 slices of bread, or a whole chicken" !!!!!

I just posted the newer version of the one I own already. It's $80, with a $5 off coupon right now.

If this were my first purchase, needed a bigger capacity, and didn't mind the extra few bucks, I'd get the one you linked. I'm cooking for one, but the idea of roasting a whole chicken, hmmm. Summer is coming, I don't miss heating the apartment for a good meal or brownies. I also don't miss waiting for the big oven to preheat (like 15+ minutes.)

The item posted here is smaller than mine. "Prepare a full 9" pizza or 4 slices of bread Prepare a full 9" pizza or 4 slices of bread". It also comes with three rack choices, but only one "slot" so you can only cook (bake, air fry?) one tray at a time.

(I did post the upgraded version of the one I own and someone has posted another, even larger capacity one.) So, decide on how much food you prepare based on your family size. Or counter top space availability. I know someone with a gigo-normous basket style air fryer which takes up too much real estate. She also has the 8qt Instant Pot and has a house with miles of counter space. Make informed and practical choices by comparing.

Yeah, I just bought that one. My old Gourmia was still working great after 3 years but I wanted something bigger, and mine was just getting really dirty because I didn't know you could use the baking pan as a drip tray 😂. So this one I'm going to baby with foil on the baking tray as well as the crumb tray.

Why not just get a microwave combo that does it all?

There are many ways to skin a cat. I put a micro/air fryer/convection in my little camper trailer for space reasons. But at home, I prefer the messier air fry/toaster/convection operations separate. To each his own.

I bought this back in 2020. It's been solid especially for the price. I also own a ninja air fryer. If you're specifically interested in air frying the basket fryers do a much better job imho. The gourmia doesn't air fry as evenly, it will do the job just not as well the other area where a basket fryer is better is cleaning. The gourmia is a pain to clean. If you're focused more on the multifunction capability the gourmia will be great for you but if you plan on using it mostly for air frying then I don't think you're going to be happy.

Have you tried using a steam cleaner to get the blown grease off?

There is a tray under the basket in these models. Also you can line them with heavy duty tinfoil for easy cleanup and air will still circulate under the basket and above the tray. Sometimes you get lazy and do not use the tinfoil so it will stain from grease dropping. The version I own has a tray that you can pull out that catches the stuff when you do not use the tray under the basket. So if you clean that it should not burn on the next time you cook. We really like ours and will get another if it ever wears out. The Cuisinart T60 is the model we own.
