It is good for you? Probably.
It is necessary? No.
Would it make a difference in your body? Unlikely.
However, instead of the usual Subscribe & Save method, choose Add to Cart, like you're placing a new one-off order.
Prior to checkout, with the item in your cart, choose the S&S checkbox.
Then, you'll have the 20% coupon clipped, although it isn't apparent, but you'll see it applied in your subtotal - $11.49 here.

Although, sometimes I save hundreds and the purchase only takes a few minutes, so it all balances out.

I have tried all flavors and mix/match.
Chocolate flavor works well. Got 100 serving chocolate a month back on similar deal for $30ish.
Wouldn't mind getting more around that unit price.

Since chocolate protein powder goes with almost everything, I reserve chocolate flavor for my whey isolate and separate casein powder.
My smoothie's base consists of frozen berries, topped with milk, so Amazing Grass Berry flavor pairs well with the rest of my ingredients.
The Original green is overpowering, to me, like I'm grazing in a pasture.
Since I brought it up, I'll pitch my 2¢ about how to up your smoothie game:
Use an immersion blender to mix everything in the same glass that you'll drink from.
- The little (guarded) blade obliterates frozen berries, so I don't have any need for ice. Instead, that space is reserved for ingredients with nutrients. If you prefer to use ice, and use a cordless immersion blender, go for crushed ice. Cordless immersion blenders, like every other tool, lacks the power of its corded iteration.
- Cleanup is streamlined. Right after you're done mixing your smoothie, just remove the stick from the base and rinse it with warm or hot water.
- Drink your smoothie in peace, knowing that the only cleanup you have left is tossing your glass in the dishwasher (or I just handwash it).
This immersion blender recommendation isn't coming from someone who's devoid of any experimentation.I have a Blendtec blender (shoutout to WildSide+ Jars) and a dedicated smoothie maker. Before discovering the ease of making smoothies with an immersion blender, I also went through a Magic Bullet and a couple of its clones.
Lastly, if you prefer drinking with straws, I'd highly recommend at least a 10" long borosilicate glass straw with 10mm+ diameter. Yes, there are pre-bent glass straws with ≈30° angles.
