Robusta beans tend to be bitter, and a bit harsh.

Nearly all premium coffees are 100% arabica.

Good to know. Thanks for the information. I like strong coffee, so I'm willing to try it out.

No idea why you got downvoted. You just saved me from making a horrible mistake. The last robusta I tried tasted like bleach.

It's a little bitter because it's the espresso blend; ground more finely so the coffee is a little more bitter than a regular ground coffee for drip machines.I did buy this coffee and I usually mix it with regular ground because it's a bit potent for use in my coffee maker. For the price; it's fine.

This is informative. TY

Personally I like strong coffee and this brand does me justice. Especially for the price.

If you're a fan of Italian espressos (or homemade from a bialetti) then you'll want this robusta, for the crema.

That's good. Everyone is different.

It isn't a coincidence though nearly every super premium coffee offering is 100% arabica. It tends to be much smoother and more mellow. There's also no coincidence most low grade coffees are robusta, or, refuse to label their composition.

Try them side by side sometime, all else equal, and see if you still feel the same way. Possible, but unlikely I'd wager.

So what do you suggest instead?

I wouldn't recommend it. Grind size is too small for good cold brew.

Well taste is subjective to a degree. I'd research quality arabica coffees.

Peet's is excellent, and so is Lavazza, just not this one in my opinion. Starbucks is good, even though the company is disgusting, and kicking horse is also quite tasty I've been told.

Lots of good craft options. Try and few in different roasts, I'd just steer clear of robusta bean coffee or blends. It isn't bad…it can even be good, but still inferior in my experience to well sourced and roster arabica options.
