Nice deal. I'm waiting for the battery experts to chime in. I thought $10 per AH is standard for a "good" deal.

From my limited experience. 3.0 Ah batteries don't have a lot of staying power if a lot of juice is required. For instance, when using a cordless circular saw. I'm happy to be corrected if I'm wrong.

I have a bunch of dewalt tools and a bunch of the 2.0 Ah batteries. I'm a hobbyist and not a professional. The only tool that drains them too fast for my use is the blower. Everything else has plenty of juice. Circular saw, reciprocating, jigsaw, handheld shop vac, various drills

A circular saw requires power and RPM - ie energy being expended.

This little 3ah is for lights or a screwdriver or something like that. Will it do all the others? Sure, but as you write, not as much staying power. But it's perfect for a screwdriver (or even a 1.5ah is perfect for a screwdriver) because it's lighter and easier to use.

I'm no expert, but I try to monitor Dewalt prices, be patient, and jump on truly slick deals... I agree with $10 per AH as the standard ok deal for Dewalt 20v batteries. This comes out to $11.66 per AH, so I would rate it not a slick deal. If you can wait, lower battery prices will be around the corner.

I just did a bathroom remodel. I have lots of big batteries but I end up using the small batteries because it just makes the tool easier to handle. And for that kind of job you cut put it down then do other stuff.
If I am doing a lot of cutting I use one of the big saws

Agree; there's a reason I like the red's 12v.

these batteries are absolute shit. the lithium ion cells in these are the most bottom of the barrel garbage money can buy. the output current is low, which means putting this battery on your saw or drill would make the tool much weaker than compared to something like a 4ah or 5ah battery

also, $150 is the NORMAL price for these batteries. this set has sold for $80-$100 in the past. the $10 per ah rule only applies to batteries that aren't trash.

Buy Waitley 6ah batteries. Same exact form factor, double the juice. The two pack drops to $52 all the time (60ish now). Only downside is the lack of fiberglass reinforcement, and I've definitely cracked a few from drops. Every other knockoff I've tried has SUBSTANTIALLY less than advertised AH, so be careful in the knockoff game... but be even more weary of name brand batteries in a case that's double the size that it should be.
