I got one from Costco a couple years ago and it is GREAT! Whizzes through everything we throw at it

I've been traveling much lately so haven't had a chance to to use it yet. But from everything I've seen and read, this thing is a beast.

If you don't care about the whisk and the case, buying it directly from vitamix might work out. Its $119 after new customer discount plus some cc cacheback and cacheback from certain sites.

I bought this a couple years ago. You can feel the build quality when you hold it compared to generic hand blenders.

HOWEVER, I used it a few days ago after I hadn't used it for months. I tried to make myself a frappe or whatever it would be called, i.e., ice, milk and Nesquik. I noticed a faint burning smell when I used it, but it wasn't strong enough to cause concern, I just thought it was a normal "working motor" smell. I took a chug and it tasted awful.

It has been very hot in my house this summer so I'm assuming the extreme heat caused whatever lubricant is inside the blade attachment to ooze down the shaft and then leak into my drink when I used it. I have yet to call customer support as this has a 3 year warranty.
