Oh man. There is a lot of conflicting information floating around here so as a powerlifter and someone who stays up on the actual science I'll chime in:

1) Creatine is by far THE most studied sports nutrition supplement. It is safe and fine for beginners. No reputable studies tie it to hair loss. It is not a weight loss supplement in any way. As was previously hinted at, study after study has shown that it is an extremely effective supplement for all types of fitness, as well as demonstrated cognitive benefits. A bit of a wonder supplement, and backed by science.

2) Not all creatines (and supplements) are created equal, as they are not FDA regulated. This creatine is certified by Informed Sport, which is a global testing and supplement certification program. The other one you might see is NSF. Nutricost is neither of those - it advertises "3rd party certified", but does not specify which. Not to say Nutricost doesn't provide a good product, but it's more so YMMV.

Hope this helps.
No. There is no association between creatine use and hair loss. It's a myth started by 1 flawed study that no other studies have been able to replicate since then.

Creatine related hairless was unfounded. The single study done on a single male without background was deemed irrelevant. I'm not invalidating your experience, but the science behind it is unfounded.

I also see an extra 10% off your first S&S order to bring it down to $15.65 in my cart.

For beginning lifter do you suggest using creatine? The only supplements I currently take are protein powder, multi vitamin and vitamin d

Is this recommended for someone who's trying to lose weight but only occasionally works out?

Creatine is mainly known for helping your body recover faster after exercising, but also has some great cognitive benefits:

creatine is recommended for weight loss in general. you might see water weight gain in the first few weeks taking it.

One of the main benefits of creatine is increased ATP production, which is only needed if you're being very active and needing additional energy stores to perform.

It's not going to help you lose weight on its own and will likely cause water retention, which will actually increase your weight but not your bodyfat.

This is a meh deal. micronized creatine is micronized creatine. The same sized container from Nutricost is always $20 on Amazon with many many more reviews: https://www.amazon.com/Nutricost-...atine&th=1
What you're paying for here is the cool "SPORTS CREATINE" label.

I would not take it unless you are lifting 3+ times a week and looking to maximize your workouts. It will do nothing for weight loss.

Woops, You're right there, I was looking at the Amazon page price of $19.95 instead of the post title.
Fancy label and lower cost indeed!
