pretty limited uses for 1 inch brads, 1.5 would be great but I'm grabbing these if I don't have many small ones left in my shop

Base shoe and other small mouldings

Normally one would use a smaller gauge but don't have a gun for that

Yep. Too short for any molding over sheetrock. Maybe good for stacking layers on complex molding designs, but 18ga is a little too heavy.
