For a so-called expert... I suggest doing a little more research before telling everyone false things... These are all alkaline both AA and AAA. All links are correct also..

so looks like VARTA makes both carbon zinc and alkaline batteries - carbon zinc are black in color, alkaline blue, red and orange - this looks like a blue wrapper.

I'm tellin yall..... it didn't say Alkaline when this deal was posted. Please note the OP's post doesn't mention Alkaline either. Now the whole flippin listing has Alkaline all through it. We aren't THAT blind. The Amazon listing was just edited. Sus AF.

Ok so I looked at VARTA on amazon as a whole... Only Carbon-Zinc I found without going through 100's of pages awas a 9v battery. Sure I might of missed some others but I do not see any 100 packs of AA or AAA Carbon-Zinc from VARTA on the website.. YES on EBAY and search engine I do but not on Amazon..

They are Alkaline batteries. IF they aren't it's Amazon so a return would be easy.
I don't know how good they are but for 100 for 13ish isn't bad at all..
