Great watch and a decent deal. But I expect we will see more like this because they now have the Fenix 8 and this is the non-pro version so it's now two generations old.
Love this watch. This deal is only $50 more than the best price ever (back on Prime Day), but still a really good price. I upgraded from a Fenix 5 Plus Titanium (2nd gen) and this watch is so much better.

Definitely want to turn off the AOD, as it does eat battery. But the turn wrist to look at the face always turns it on.

Picked one up at $299 on clearance at Sam's Club last month. My husband loves this watch!
No way that you got this watch for $299. This is a EPIX Sapphire.

I picked up the non-sapphire version of this watch and I love it so far. Migrating from an Apple Watch. 1) battery life, omg, I used to charge multiple times a day. Now I charge once a week for about an hour and it's good to go. The proprietary charge cable is annoying but once a week is ok. 2) so much more data for running and working out, without having to subscribe to a 3rd party service 3) workouts can be easily programmed and uploaded. Free guided training from Garmin. 4) buttons are much easier to use during a run to change data screens. 5) YouTube music integration! I can download ytmusic to the device over wifi and listen to it on runs. I rarely used the Apple Watch to text or call, so I don't really miss any of the "smart" features.

I got this watch on Prime day and for the most part love it. I have to say that the battery life is nowhere near what you have stated (and is one of the main reasons I switched from Apple). Note that I am NOT using the always on display. Was recently on a 7 day camping trip where I had no cell service for the most part, learned that certain features/functions (i.e., Tides) rely on an functioning cell connection via mobile phone. I used my watch to track at least one activity every day (Surf, mountain bike, stand up paddle), and the battery died on the 6th day of my trip (had to go to battery save mode). I'm now back to civilization with active cell/wifi, and I'm now at day 9 (did not track activities every day), and my battery is at 8%. I do find that the wrist flick needed to turn the display on is a bit hit or miss. If the watch band is a bit loose, it's more of a miss and I need to tap the screen to activate it. Also find the sleep tracking quite a bit off from how I actually feel after a good or bad night's sleep. Overall pretty happy with the watch.
If you're leaving civilization for a week at a time on a regular basis, I would personally pick up an instinct for those trips, the 2x is on sale and has solar https://slickdeals.net/f/17756700

I can't believe anyone can live with that experience. I tried it and immediately turned it back to always on. The wrist flick is so hit or miss for me
When you tried, was touch screen function turned ON ? if touch screen function is OFF, there is a longer delay on the wrist flick wake up. Set touch screen to ON will make the wrist flick wake up way faster!

For some unknown reason, when set touch screen to OFF, it cause delay to wrist flick gesture wake up.

There was a price mistake last year on the epix pro, sapphire and not. I snagged the 42mm epix pro, non sapphire for $350
