The price is insane for a console with a minor performance jump, and old CPU architecture.

I had a moment of weakness where I was actually considering buying this but then I remembered that this thing doesn't come with a disk drive so most of my PS5 library wouldn't even be playable. What was Sony thinking?

When compared to the $600 ps3, is it?
The PS3 was a huge jump from the PS2, and it included a blu ray player.

Plus the original ps3 was such a beautiful and well built machine. The built in card reader etc, sad when mines died.

You ever sell something wanting lets say $300 but you put a $500 price tag on it... eventually someone will say i'll give you $400. People want a deal, I think sony will eventually lower the price but prob to $599 and will still be rubbing those greedy hands together getting more than what it's worth anyway. In the words of my gam gam "just terrible"

Gamers are cheap and the state of the industry with all the microtransactions and lack of huge graphical leaps is their own fault. Everytime something new comes out that has a price increase gamers complain. New iPhone is double this price and people readily pay it even though the "upgrades" are barely there...Make it make sense. 😂
